AABANY Co-Sponsors: Minority Attorneys: You're an Up and Coming Talent

 
On October 12, the New York City Bar Committee on Minorities in the Profession will present a seminar entitled: “Minority Attorneys: You’re An Up and Coming Talent - Be More, Do More and Discover More By Reaching For The Leader Within You.” AABANY is a co-sponsor of this free event, and past AABANY President and 2011 City Bar Diversity Champion Award recipient Vincent Chang is among the panelists. NAPABA Press Release: Nomination of Hon. Jacqueline H. Nguyen

 
Last Friday, September 23, NAPABA and the Asian American Justice Center issued a press release applauding the nomination of the Hon. Jacqueline H. Nguyen to the Ninth Circuit Fedeal Appellate Court. Read the full text of the press release here.  

NAPABA National Convention in Atlanta, GA

 

NAPABA’s National Convention this year will be taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, from Nov. 16 through 20, 2011, at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center. Registration is now open. Check the NAPABA website for some information on the program schedule and deadlines.  Hotel accommodations at the group rate of $165 must be reserved by October 27.

Mark your calendars; hope to see you at the NAPABA National Convention in Atlanta in November.

Next Annual Dinner Committee Call: Oct. 18

 
The next meeting of the Annual Dinner Committee will be by conference call on October 18 at 5 pm. If you are interested in helping AABANY plan its biggest event of the year, please contact Jean Lee, Annual Dinner Committee Chair, at jean.lee@aabany.org. The Annual Dinner will take place at Cipriani Wall Street on February 29, 2012.

Close to all bus/subway stations, all courts and downtown financial districts. The building has 5 elevators and 24 hours security and accessibility. Monthly Rental about $1,000 per month. Court Sponsored Volunteer Attorney Program

 

Do you have some time to volunteer to assist self-represented litigants in New York's courts?  Many opportunities exist through several Volunteer Attorney Programs to get trained to provide legal advice and assistance to pro se clients in housing, family law, consumer debt and foreclosure cases.  Please visit the Court Sponsored Volunteer Attorney Program’s website to learn how you can help.
