Dear Friend,

I’m writing to you now to let you know about our new continuing legal education course on estate planning starting March 24.  The seven-session-fourteen-hour course (for which attendees get CLE credit) is being presented by the ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Section's Community Outreach Committee in cooperation with the National Bar Association Region II, Puerto Rican Bar Association, Metropolitan Black Bar Association, Asian-American Bar Association of New York, Alumni Association of CUNY Law School, Latino Lawyers Association of Queens County, Dominican Bar Association, Macon B. Allen Black Bar Association, and Korean-American Lawyers Association of Greater New York.
You’re getting this e-mail message because you’re on my priority invitation list, and I wanted to make sure that the news gets to you first.

The course will continue on consecutive Wednesday evenings through May 5.  In all, you get seven approximately two-hour lectures.  Our classroom will be the Village Room at First American Title Insurance Company of New York.  The address is 633 Third Avenue.  It’s between 40th and 41st Streets.  Each session will begin at 6:30 PM and end at
8:45 PM.

To sign on, merely send me an e-mail message with your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.   That’s all you need to do.

Seating is limited.  Please sign on only if you intend to attend all or most of the sessions.  If you can’t make it once or twice but want to attend the other sessions, that’s OK.  However, if you intend to come only once or twice, you’ll be excluding someone else who wants to come.

This soup to nuts course is designed to provide you with a much greater understanding of such vital topics as creating a disposition plan, comparing wills and revocable trusts, analyzing and drafting for nondispositive issues, and ethical considerations.  It’s the course to take if you’re looking to shift career gears or if you’re looking for a handy way to brush up on probate and trust law skills.

This and all of our other courses have two goals.  One is to lend a helping hand to experienced general practitioners who want to be probate and trust law specialists but never got the chance. The other is to help lawyers bridge the gap between law school’s theoretical courses and the practical skills needed by any good lawyer who needs to draft a will or trust, create an estate plan, or administer a trust or estate.

For all this you pay nothing.  All of the lecturers are contributing their time, First American is contributing its lecture room, and all of the bar associations listed above are providing their services without charge.

Important information you need to know:

? The course will qualify for continuing legal education credit.
?  All sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
? Each session will include a networking coffee break to allow you to meet and get to know your fellow students and the lecturers. We’ll use this time to eat, gossip, and exchange
business cards with our own members and members of other participating bar associations. By the way, the coffee and snacks are free also.
? We will provide written materials for each session (without charge) and send them to you by e-mail. Reading them before class will enhance your knowledge and enjoyment.
? I’ve attached a more detailed description of our course to this e-mail message. It’s in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. To open, merely click on its icon Reserve your seat:
Understandably, seating is limited. So, if you’re interested, it’s very important for you to sign on as soon as you can.
? All we ask is that, if you do sign on, you commit yourself morally to attend. If you change your mind for any reason after registering, please let us know so that we can open your seat
    for another member.
