As China seeks to transition from a manufacturing, export-based economy to a center of international business and finance, its need for sophisticated multinational legal and financial services is growing. Opportunities exist for U.S. law firms providing legal services in China in a number of practice areas, including capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, international trade, inbound and outbound investment, shipping, intellectual property rights, arbitration, life sciences, real estate, information technology and e-commerce, labor and employment, private equity, and venture capital.
To help you and your law firm take advantage of these opportunities, the General Counsel of the United States Department of Commerce will lead a Legal Services Trade Mission to China, September 16-18, 2013, with the support of the American Bar Association.
This mission, which will include stops in Beijing and Shanghai, will introduce U.S. law firms to the Chinese market, help firms market legal services to Chinese law firms and companies, including those interested in doing business in the United States, and further an ongoing dialogue with Chinese authorities on opening the Chinese legal services market.
See the mission flyer and application below. The application period is now open and will close on August 16th, 2013.
For more information about this trade mission, please contact the mission coordinator, Frank Spector, at 202-482-2054 or Frank.Spector@trade.gov.
