for Law Students of Color

Come and learn how to present yourslf at an interview in the most effective and successful manner. This workshop is designed to help law students of color prepare for the fall recruiting season by identifying key factors legal employers look and listen for during interviews for positions as summer associates, interns and clerks. This program will offer participants the opportunity to participate in two mock interviews and receive critical feedback from practicing attorneys on their interviewing skills. Learn how to communicate who you are and provide yourself with the best opportunity to secure your next job in the legal field.

3:00 pm - Welcome and Mock Interview Ground Rules Provided to Law Students in the Main Chamber

3:00 pm - 4:15 pm Hiring and Interviewing Skills Panel

4:30 pm - 5:10 pm Student Interview #1

5:15 pm - 5:55 pm Student Interview #2

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm Cocktail Reception

1. Students must arrive promptly at 2:30 pm in business attire.
2. Students are required to RSVP, and interview matches are assigned in advance on a rolling basis.
3. Priority will be given to students who have joined PALS via the PALS website: .

4. Students must attend the entire hiring/interview skills panel to participate in the interviews.

5. Each student should bring several copies of his/her resume and transcript to the workshop.

PALS Mission Statement:

PALS is dedicated to enhancing the skills and careers of minority law students and early career attorneys. PALS does this by offering customized mentoring, educational and professional development opportunities. PALS provides resources to augment the law school and employer training of, respectively, minority law students and beginning lawyers, and will continue to offer its services free of charge.
