Join the Metropolitan Black Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association as Michele Coleman Mayes, Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of The New York Public Library, is honored with the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Award. Named for one of the first African American women to run for public office in the United States, the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Justice Award is presented annually to a woman of color whose life reflects her spirit and courageousness by distinguishing herself in the right for racial and gender equality. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
