Women in Law Institute: Your Pipeline to Success
In the competitive business of law, in order to have and maintain a thriving practice and a successful career, all lawyers, particularly women, need to learn to effectively communicate with their colleagues, skillfully engage in self-promotion and develop strong networking skills. If you seek to gain an edge on the competition, and have the stamina to participate in interactive workshops and gain individualized critiques from leading attorneys in a supportive environment, this day is for you.
To help prepare the next generation of lawyers, the University of Texas Center for Women in Law will present the first New York City-based workshop of the nationally-acclaimed Women in Law Institute. The Institute is a limited enrollment, 8-hour workshop. Only second and third-year law students, LL.M. candidates, judicial clerks and recent graduates who are not yet admitted are eligible to attend.
Participants can look forward to expert presentations on the essential skills for navigating a successful career in law: effective communication, self-promotion, and networking. Following each lecture, students work in small groups led by distinguished practitioner/volunteers to perfect these skills through practice and individualized critiques in a supportive environment. Attorney volunteers are senior in-house counsel, judges, law firm senior counsel and partners.
