TOPIC: Gender, Emotion & Power in the Workplace. How frequently have you heard: 'It's nothing against you, it's not personal -- it's just business"? And, in response, how often have you thought at work it's never just business -- it's always personal. At this event, journalist and former corporate executive Anne Kreamer will give us a behind-the-scene look at what's really going on from 9 to 5 -- the crying, yelling, jealousy and bullying, as well as the friendship and laughter borne of creative collaboration. Presenting the latest information on the intricacies of the human brain and sharing candid stories from employees in a wide range of fields, and the surprising results of two national surveys, Anne will help us understand how to get rational about our emotions and gain practical skills to help us flourish in an emotionally charged workplace.
GUEST:Anne Kreamer is the author of It's Always Personal: Navigating Emotion in the New Workplace and Going Gray: What I Learned About Beauty, Sex, Work, Motherhood, Authenticity, and Everything Else That Really Matters. Hew newest book, Risk/Reward: Why Intelligent Leaps and Daring Choices Are the Best Career Moves You Can Make, decodes what it takes to get ahead and achieve satisfaction in today's unpredictable new workscape.
