A review of the new “Model Rules” that govern adjudications in the Hearings Division of the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings.
The rules, found in Chapters 3, 5, and 6 of Title 48 of the Rules of the City of New York, went into effect on August 7, 2016, and not only update, streamline, and make uniform certain procedural rules and practices, but they also created the Hearings Division as a consolidation of what had been three separate tribunals within OATH (ECB, Health, and Vehicles For Hire).
The General Counsel and Chief Clerk at OATH will review the changes and discuss OATH’s ongoing efforts to provide quality and efficient administrative justice for the people of the City of New York. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the session to address participant questions.
