September 19, 2011 – President Linda S. Lin officially announced the formation of the Asian American Bar Association of New York’s (AABANY) first law review, The AABANY Law Review, at AABANY’s Second Annual Fall Conference held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meager & Flom LLP. President Lin states, "This undertaking represents a first-of-its-kind endeavor by AABANY, and we hope that it will provide a platform for important works of legal scholarship on issues that matter to the Asian Pacific American community."  Click here to read the full press release.

July 18, 2011 – The Asian American Bar Association of New York’s (AABANY) President Linda S. Lin sent a letter to the 2011 Commission on Judicial Compensation, recommending an immediate increase in judicial compensation for New York State judges and justices. In the letter, written to Commission Chair William C. Thompson Jr., President Lin urged the Commission "…to take dramatic steps to reverse the 13-year pay freeze which New York’s judges have endured” and further recommended that the Commission increase Supreme Court justices’ compensation "…to an annual salary range of $190,000 to $196,000, together with future, indexed cost-of living adjustments.”  Click here to read full press release and click here to read the letter sent by President Lin.

MAY 2, 2011 – The Asian American Bar Association of New York ("AABANY”) applauds the selection of former AABANY Presidents, Vincent T. Chang and Andrew T. Hahn, as the 2011 New York City Bar Diversity Champion Award Winners.

The New York City Bar’s Enhance Diversity in the Profession Committee will be presenting the Sixth Annual Diversity Champion Award at an Award Ceremony and Luncheon on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.   The award recognizes the critical role individual attorneys have played in initiating and sustaining change within their organizations and the overall New York legal community.  Click here for the full press release.

May 2, 2011 – AABANY and NYCLA to Celebrate Diversity on the Bench during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.  On Thursday, May 12, 2011, the Asian American Bar Association of New York ("AABANY”) in conjunction with the New York County Lawyers’ Association ("NYCLA”) will celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at NYCLA’s Home of Law with a special event to celebrate diversity on the bench, featuring New York Asian Pacific American jurists.  Click here to read more.

April 8, 2011 - AABANY applauds the designation of Justice Jeffrey K. Oing to the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the state of New York, New York County: Chief Administrative Judge Ann T. Pfau, in consultation with Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Fern A. Fisher and Administrative Judge Sherry Klein Heitler, designated Justice Jeffrey K. Oing to the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County. February 23, 2011 - ASIAN AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK TO HOLD 22nd ANNUAL DINNER:  The Asian American Bar Association of New York ("AABANY”) will have its Annual Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street. The Annual Dinner has consistently attracted more than 500 attendees from the New York legal community and guests have included prominent federal and state judges, elected officials and dignitaries, and attorneys from large and small law firms, corporate law departments, prosecutors’ offices and government agencies.  Click here to read more.
