AABANY 2015-2016 Mentorship Program Applications Now Open

AABANY’s Mentorship Program provides support, advice, and networking opportunities to aid both mentors and mentees in their professional and personal development. Each mentee is matched to a mentor who will serve as a teacher, role model, and resource to the mentee. Mentors and mentees may come from any level of experience and practice area.

Our Mentorship Program is different from other programs by focusing on not only practice areas but also personal interests and hobbies when matching mentors and mentees. By doing so, we hope to facilitate long-lasting relationships that are compatible personally as well as professionally. In order to participate in AABANY's Mentorship Program, you must be an AABANY member.

If you are a past participant, please feel free to sign up for a new mentee or mentor. However, we encourage you to maintain your current relationship with your mentee or mentor. The deadline for both mentor and mentee applications is Friday, August 21, 2015.

Joon H. Kim, who was honored at AABANY’s Annual Prosecutors Reception, was recently profiled by Bloomberg Business’s “Bharara’s Deputy Wall Street Cop Brings CV Pairing Citi, Gotti,” by Greg Farrell and Patricia Hurtado. The article points out how Joon’s unique background as white collar defense attorney and mob prosecutor may be exactly what high-profile U.S. Attorney for the Southern District Preet Bharara needs during the final phase of his tenure. As quoted in the article, [Benjamin Lawsky] said “He’s not afraid to say, even to a good friend like Preet, that this is a good idea or not a good idea.”
