AABANY Member Focus Groups: Help Us with Strategic Planning, May 31

You're invited to share your AABANY membership experience and help us to identify the possibilities for the organization as it continues to thrive. This open conversation will help us to develop the strategic plan for the next three years.

We offer you two options to participate on May 31: a conference call at 12:30 pm or at 5:30 pm. You can sign up for one or the other. We will send you call-in details after your registration has been received. When registering, please indicate which call you would prefer to join.

The call should take about 45 minutes. Note: We are especially seeking AABANY members who are not involved in a leadership role (i.e. Board member, Committee Chair).

Please join us on May 31 to help shape AABANY and its future.

Click here to register for one of the two calls.

Congratulations to Vince Chang

Congratulations to Vince Chang, past AABANY President (2007), who was elected to Vice President at the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) Annual Meeting, Election and Induction of Officers and Directors on May 25.

Founded in 1908, NYCLA upheld the values of democracy and inclusion, refusing to deny admission to the association on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender or race. Today, NYCLA counts some 9000 attorneys in its membership and is one of the leading county bar associations in the country.

AABANY also congratulates the following NYCLA officers who were elected at the meeting:

  • Michael J. McNamara, President
  • Stephen C. Lessard, President-Elect
  • Adrienne B. Koch, Treasurer
  • Asha Smith, Secretary

Please join is congratulating Vince and all the NYCLA officers on their election. We wish them every success and look forward to working with NYCLA to advance our mutual goals.

AABANY Members Named Top Women Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

AABANY congratulates the AABANY members who have been named Top Women Super Lawyers and Rising Stars in the New York Metro 2017 edition.

Both recognitions of Super Lawyer and Rising Star involve a very selective and intense process in which the selected attorney is nominated and approved by his or her peers in the same area of practice.

Selections are made on an annual basis. Only 5% of attorneys are recognized as Super Lawyers, and only 2.5% of attorneys under 40 years of age are selected as Rising Stars.  The attorney must prove to be ethical, have excellent client records and proven results. The 2017 digital edition of Super Lawyer and Rising Star can be found by following the link in the title.
