Supervising attorneys in CUNY School of Law's CLEAR project (Creating Law Enforcement Accountability & Responsibility) will train attorneys on the basics of handling law enforcement contact cases-where law enforcement agents or officers approach an unindicted client for a so-called voluntary interview. This law enforcement practice is widespread in Muslim, Arab, and South Asian communities, and it is increasingly used to target anti-war groups, progressive organizers, and environmental activists.

We hope attorneys who attend this training will be able to handle basic contact cases and take pro bono referrals from the CLEAR Project on an as-needed basis. CLE accreditation is pending for this program.

RSVP required here.

Sponsored by the SABANY Public Interest Committee, MuBANY, and the CUNY CLEAR Project.
