Interested in becoming a small claims arbitrator?

The Small Claims Arbitrators Association has scheduled arbitrator trainings in Brooklyn and Staten Island. There will be additional trainings scheduled throughout the City and in each County throughout the year, so stay tuned.

In order to be eligible to sit as a small claims arbitrator you must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Be a licensed New York attorney that is registered and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • Be admitted to the Bar for at least 5 years (2 years for current court attorneys) before you can sit as an arbitrator (you may train before you are eligible to sit as an arbitrator).
  • Complete the small claims arbitrator training; spend one day or evening observing an experienced arbitrator; and a complete a brief interview.

All attendees must sign up, and if necessary pay your SCAA dues, using one of the links provided below. The training is free for SCAA members.

We look forward to seeing you at the training.
