Interested in becoming an arbitrator? Resolving disputes between attorneys and their clients? A free, virtual two-day arbitrator training sponsored by the New York State Unified Court System’s Attorney-Client Fee Dispute Resolution Program and the New York County Lawyers Association will take place this fall. Day 1 (October 22, 2026): General Overview of the Part 137 Program Reasonableness of the Attorney Fee Ethical Issues Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias in the Conduct of Proceedings, Evidentiary Analysis and Decision Making Questions and Answers Day 2 (October 23, 2026): What Do You Actually Do as a Part 137 Arbitrator? Pre-hearing Preparation Opening the Hearing, followed by Role Play 1 Hearing the Evidence, followed by Role Play 2 Concluding the Hearing, followed by Role Play 3 Drafting the Decision Debriefing and Final Thoughts Date: October 22 and 23, 2026, 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM (EDT).
