AABANY’s 6th Annual Fall Conference, Charting New Frontiers, will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the offices of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, this year's host sponsor.

Come de-stress with the the Immigration & Nationality Law Committee, Student Outreach Committee, and Women's Committee in a Slow Flow and Restorative yoga class taught by a lawyer for lawyers. Class ends at 8:30pm with light snacks until 9:00pm.
Class Description: Slow Flow and Restorative: We will begin with a slow flow of poses to warm the body up and release tension, then move into restorative postures to bring on deep relaxation, and finally you will be guided through a short guided meditation for even deeper release. For those unfamiliar with restorative yoga, it uses various props (blocks and bolsters) to support and encourage the body to open and release muscular and emotional tightness. Restorative poses are explored for longer periods of time than traditional postures and have been proven to be therapeutic, encouraging peace of mind while managing stress. This is an all levels class, whether you have no experience or years of practice behind you.
Attendance: Space is limited so registration is required. Attendance is free for AABANY members and $20 for non-members, payable upon registration. Bring your own yoga mat or rent one from the studio for $2 cash.

Nell Gluckman, of The American Lawyer, recently spotlighted Hon. Denny Chin and Kathy Hirata Chin's work in leading historical trial reenactments in, "Cadwalader Partner, Federal Judge Broaden Scope of Reenactments."
An important educational tool for attorneys, the trial reenactments have highlighted the history of Asian Americans in the law. The Chins are now planning to broaden the scope of topics covered. Whatever case they choose next, we trust their talent and judgment and look forward to the thought-provoking questions and conversations that they will inevitably bring up.
AABANY is proud to launch the Speakers Bureau and is seeking to develop a robust roster of AABANY members who are interested in sharing their legal knowledge and expertise and connect them with relevant speaker requests from AABANY Committees, bar associations and other organizations.
This is an excellent opportunity to not only hone your presentation skills but also to raise your profile as an expert in your practice area.
Membership Secretary Irene Tan is seeking interested law students to serve as Membership Committee Delegates for AABANY. As a Membership Committee Delegate, law students will participate on the Membership Steering Committee and have the opportunity to work with senior leadership to develop and execute key strategic membership initiatives for the organization.
Membership Committee Delegates are required to attend a minimum of four AABANY-sponsored events in a semester where the Membership Committee Delegate will assist with checking in attendees at events, distributing marketing materials, and promoting the organization. Membership Committee Delegates will be invited to participate on other Membership projects on an ad hoc basis.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting more involved in the organization. Membership Committee Delegates will attend AABANY events for free, quickly develop an expansive network within the organization, and contribute to and collaborate on membership initiatives for one of the largest minority bar associations in New York.
Those interested should contact Membership Secretary Irene Tan at irene.tan@aabany.org.
