Thanks and Farewell to Simone Nguyen

Friday, August 4, marked Simone Nguyen's last day as AABANY's Program Associate. We enjoyed her three-and-a-half years with us, and we will miss her invaluable contributions and assistance to AABANY in that role. We will also miss her cheerful spirit and kindness, and her passion for and commitment to AABANY's mission. To see some photos from Simone's last day, check out the Facebook album.

Simone plans to be at the Prosecutors' Committee Summer Cocktail Mixer on August 17 so be sure to stop in to wish her well in person.

Simone, thanks for all your help over the years. We will miss you, and we wish you well with your future plans and endeavors.

Join Us at the AABANY Fall Conference: September 23, 2017

Save the date for the AABANY Fall Conference: Take Charge | Lead Change on September 23, 2017

On Saturday, September 23, we'll be taking charge and leading change at Fordham Law School. The AABANY Fall Conference is a full day of CLEs, career panels, mentoring, and fun -- the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to fulfill their CLE requirements, move their career forward, or connect with new and old friends. We hope to see you there.

Join the AABANY Community Response Task Force

AABANY’s Issues Committee is pleased to invite you to join the newly formed AABANY Community Response Task Force!

The Community Response Task Force (CRTF) is AABANY’s answer to the rapidly changing legal landscape and the need for quick, effective, and coordinated responses to the emergent issues that affect our communities. AABANY is firmly committed to being a strong voice and steadfast advocate on behalf of the Asian-American/Pacific-Islander community. In the past several months, we have all been witness to sweeping changes that necessitated powerful legal responses. While there have been some great triumphs, there were often times when it was difficult to obtain information, to find ways to contribute, or to organize a response quickly enough to be effective.

The CRTF is specifically designed to address these needs. The CRTF will serve as a central clearinghouse for information and coordination – tailoring the alerts sent to each volunteer based on that volunteer’s preferences and the needs of the community. Alerts and actions will range from emergency legal services to direct non-legal service actions and from workshops to rallies.
