On November 3, 2015, Darcel Clark was elected as the first woman to be the Bronx District Attorney, and the first African-American woman to be elected as a District Attorney in the State of New York.
As an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, a Supreme Court Justice, a Criminal Court Judge, and a former Bronx Assistant District Attorney, Justice Darcel Clark has dedicated her career to making the City safer for all Bronx families. Throughout her time in the justice system, Darcel has earned a reputation for being tough but fair, and she has never forgotten where she came from. Darcel is a tough-minded, home-grown individual who knows what is fair, what is right and what is just. The Metropolitan Black Bar Association is privileged to honor Darcel.
