Joann S. Lublin is management news editor for The Wall Street Journal.  She writes about such issues as executive pay, corporate governance and CEO succession.  "Your Executive Career,'' her advice column, appears monthly.  In 2003, she was part of a Journal team awarded the Pulitzer Prize for stories about corporate scandals.  Joann was among the first female reporters at the Journal and its first female deputy bureau chief of the Journal's London bureau.  Joann is the author of a new book called Earning it:  Hard-Won Lessons from Trailblazing Women at the Top of the Business World.  It describes leadership lessons from 52 high-level female corporate executives, based on career obstacles they overcame.  Nearly two-thirds of the women interviewed are experienced public company CEOs.                                                                                         

TOPIC DESCRIPTION: Career Advice from the Top.  Among the first female reporters at The Wall Street Journal, Joann Lublin faced a number of uphill battles in her career.  Now, she and other women who successfully navigated the corporate battlefield share their valuable leadership lessons.  At this event, we are honored to host Joann to relay insightful tales from more than fifty women who she captured in her new book, Earning It:  Hard-Won Lessons from Trailblazing Women at the Top of the Business World.With probing questions posed by author and workplace expert Deborah Epstein Henry, Joann will reveal the wisdom of these executive women who broke the corporate glass ceiling, offering inspiring and surprising insights of the lessons learned.  Joann has chronicled the major milestones and dilemmas of the work world unique to women and she will provide candid advice and practical inspiration for women at every stage of their careers. The extraordinary women Joann will describe from the pages of Earning It will provide a compelling career compass to help attendees understand how to reach their highest potential without losing a meaningful personal life.

The first Law & Reorder event was in November 2010.  The first Law & Reorder event for anyone who wants to attend is free with no commitment to join.  If you've previously attended Flex-Time Lawyers LLC events or been a Flex-Time Lawyers LLC member before November 2010, your attendance at your first Law & Reorder event is still free.  Once you attend or have attended your first Law & Reorder program for free as of November 2010 or later, you can purchase a $150 membership fee that will cover your attendance for four consecutive events, including the first free one you attended.  Or, you can pick and choose the events you want to attend for a $50 fee per event.  Law firms can purchase corporate memberships under a different fee structure to enable one or more representatives to attend each event and/or participate by telephone or video conference.  For attendance, individual or corporate membership inquiries, please e-mail  Renee Newell.
