Interested in becoming a small claims arbitrator?
The Small Claims Arbitrators Association is pleased to host a training for those interested in becoming an arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York, Small Claims Court on November 21, 2017, from 5:30-8:30 at the Civil Court New York County. Please sign up today as space is very limited.
In order to be eligible to sit as a small claims arbitrator you must satisfy the following requirements:
- Be a licensed New York attorney that is registered and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- Be admitted to the Bar for at least 5 years before you can sit as an arbitrator (you may train before you are eligible to sit as an arbitrator).
- Complete the small claims arbitrator training; spend one day or evening observing an experienced arbitrator; and a complete a brief interview.
All attendees must sign up, and if necessary pay your SCAA dues, at https://smallclaimsarb.eventbrite.com. The training is free for SCAA members.
