The Asian Affinity Group at White & Case and the Asian American Bar Association of New York invite you to join us for a re-enactment of Chy Lung v. Freeman, in which 22 Chinese women were detained at the port of San Francisco for alleged prostitution. This trial re-enactment, which recounts the litigation of a key immigration issue before state and federal courts in California and the United States Supreme Court, highlights important issues of federalism and civil rights. The re-enactment was developed by members of AABANY, including Kathy Chin and the Honorable Denny Chin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Members and friends of the Asian Affinity Group will be participating in the re-enactment.
A discussion period and cocktail reception will follow the program.
Follow this link to RSVP by Tuesday, May 29.
The program has been approved for a maximum of 1.5 credit hours in New York which may be applied towards the Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias requirement.
