Yoga for Lawyers

Friday, 07/17/2015 at 7:00pm (arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up)
at YoGanesh (208 W. 29th street, Ste 201)

Come de-stress with the the Immigration & Nationality Law Committee, Student Outreach Committee, and Women's Committee in a Slow Flow and Restorative yoga class taught by a lawyer for lawyers. Class ends at 8:30pm with light snacks until 9:00pm.

Class Description: Slow Flow and Restorative: We will begin with a slow flow of poses to warm the body up and release tension, then move into restorative postures to bring on deep relaxation, and finally you will be guided through a short guided meditation for even deeper release. For those unfamiliar with restorative yoga, it uses various props (blocks and bolsters) to support and encourage the body to open and release muscular and emotional tightness. Restorative poses are explored for longer periods of time than traditional postures and have been proven to be therapeutic, encouraging peace of mind while managing stress.  This is an all levels class, whether you have no experience or years of practice behind you.

BioWendy Harris received her 200 hour certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and is a Registered Yoga Alliance teacher. She has obtained further certification in Restorative Therapeutic Yoga.   Wendy teaches beginners, as well as advanced practitioners and enjoys offering options and choices to make yoga accessible to everyone.

Wendy’s classes offer an opportunity to play, explore and discover in a safe and welcoming environment. Emphasizing the breath and the quality of the practice more than the achievement or look of a particular pose, she invites and encourages each student to feel yoga in his or her own way and find a sense of balance that extends beyond the mat.

Wendy is also the founding member of Harris Law, PLLC.

AttendanceSpace is limited so registration is required. Attendance is free for AABANY members and $20 for non-members, payable upon registration. Bring your own yoga mat or rent one from the studio for $2 cash.
