What makes some people excel in business development, bringing in new clients and furthering pre-existing relationships? Do rainmakers have different personal characteristics from other lawyers and if so, what are they and how can they be measured? Can lawyers learn those characteristics? Is there a difference between male and female rainmakers? These and other questions will be addressed by Patricia Gillette, in her discussion of the Rainmaking Study that addressed these issues and more. Her discussion of the study will be followed by a panel of in-house lawyers and rainmakers who will offer practical tips about business development.
