Join us for a discussion with Asia Society Policy Institute Vice President and Managing Director Wendy Cutler and the Consul General of Singapore, a diplomatic representative of South Korea and the Pacific Alliance nations on their countries’ strategic visions for global trade. The Pacific Alliance, a trading bloc comprised of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, has launched free trade talks with so-called “associate members” across the Pacific including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Canada, with South Korea considering associate membership as well. Speakers will discuss topics such as the impact of CPTPP on the trade strategies of Asian and Latin American countries. How do the open and dynamic Asian markets fit within the Pacific Alliance? What benefits will both sides receive from a closer relationship? Which other countries may soon join the table, and what challenges and opportunities do further inter-regional economic integration face? What does this mean for the United States going forward? Register below to discover the answers to these questions and many more.
