The Asia Society has generously agreed to set aside a number of free tickets to their event on Daughters of Destiny for AABANY members. This offer is extended to both AABANY and SABANY members.
Join the Asia Society for a special screening of the four-part documentary on Netflix, Daughters of Destiny and conversation with Shanti Bhavan Founder, Principal Dr. Abraham George, and Director of Operations Ajit George. Their conversation will help attendees better understand how their team is empowering children from India's lowest socioeconomic class to create transformative change for their families and communities.
Daughters of Destiny chronicles the lives of five girls over a seven-year period as they navigate two very different worlds — that of the poverty and prejudice into which they were born, and the other of opportunity through Shanti Bhavan. Shanti Bhavan is a residential school for children from India’s lowest socioeconomic class, which strives to break the cycle of poverty for India’s most disenfranchised children by providing them a holistic education by supporting them from the first day of school to their first day of work. Daughters of Destiny emerges as one of the most complex narratives about poverty, hope, and destiny.
To register, click the "Register" link above. Please note that a limited number of free tickets are available. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased from the Asia Society website by clicking "Buy Tickets" towards the bottom of the page under "Event Details" here.
