The trial reenactment will focus on the case of Korematsu v. U.S., which was decided in 1944 and most recently featured in the Supreme Court’s 2018 travel ban decision,Trump v. Hawaii. Fred Korematsu was an American citizen of Japanese descent who unsuccessfully challenged Executive Order 9066, which ordered Japanese Americans into internment camps during World War II. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the Korematsu decision.
