Please join AABANY’s Judiciary Committee for a discussion on how to become a judge through the Mayoral appointment process. The Mayor appoints judges to Criminal Court, Family Court, and interim positions in the Civil Court throughout the City.  Panelists include the Hon. Karen Cortes (Judge of the Family Court, Bronx County), Hon. Frances Wang (Judge of the Criminal Court, Bronx County), and Chanwoo Lee, who has served on the Mayor’s Committee on the Judiciary from 2001 to 2019. The panel will discuss their personal experiences and provide insight on the process, from applications to interviews.  The panel will be moderated by the Hon. “John” Zhuo Wang (Judge of the Housing Court, Kings County).
