All completed proxies must be RECEIVED by February 6, 2020.

The Asian American Bar Association of New York (“AABANY”) Annual Meeting of Members (the “Annual Meeting”) will be held on February 11, 2020 at 7:00 pm ET at Allen & Overy LLP, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020.

At the Annual Meeting, there are three proposals scheduled to be voted on:

  • Proposal 1 – To elect the officers identified on the attached proxy to serve a one-year term for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2020 and ending March 31, 2021 (the “2020 Fiscal Year”);
  • Proposal 2 – To elect 6 directors from the 6 nominees identified on the attached proxy to serve two-year terms beginning on the first day of the 2020 Fiscal Year; and
  • Proposal 3 –To amend AABANY’s by-laws to clarify the term limits for Board Members by setting a four (4) year term limit for Officers and a seven (7) year term limit for Board Members overall and to correct a clerical error by including “Immediate Past President” amongst the Number of Officers.

Every Active Member (as defined in AABANY’s by-laws) in good standing (as defined in AABANY’s by-laws) shall be entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting.

Your vote is very important. Whether or not you plan to attend the Annual Meeting, we encourage you to complete and return the PROXY FORM (Click on the link, left, to download) by Feb. 6.
