Please join us on Madison Avenue for a Unique Celebration with the World's Finest Retailers to Ring in Lunar New Year

The 5th Annual Madison Avenue Lunar New Year event will kick-off on Saturday, February 1. Madison Avenue Business Improvement District will celebrate the Year of the Rat with a centuries-old tradition by installing a wishing tree on Madison Avenue.  Since ancient times, hanging wishes on trees for the New Year is synonymous with luck and good fortune, and is believed to encourage dreams to come true.  

Upon placing a red ribbon on the tree, each person will be given a “passport” that they can present to five participating businesses to qualify for their red envelope gift. No purchase required. Each red envelope will contain a gift and/or gift certificate from the participating retailer. One lucky winner shall receive a red envelope containing a $488 cash prize.

Guests will enjoy warm hospitality at participating stores, ranging from special programming, refreshments, personalized styling, cultural entertainment, special displays to exclusive discounts. 

Event:  5^th Annual Lunar New Year Shopping Celebration on Madison Avenue

Date and Time: February 1 (Saturday), Noon to 4 pm (you can join at any time)

Location: Please start at the Wishing Tree on Madison Avenue (@710 Madison Avenue between East 63 and 64 Street).  If it rain or snow, please go inside any participating store.

DRESS Code (option): Please wear red or festive! 

Event Format: You will place a good luck ribbon at the Wishing Tree outside 710 Madison Avenue and then receive an event “passport” and event map.  You can pick any 5 participating stores to visit to collect stamps for your passport.  Then you can take the passport to the redemption center to try your luck for a raffle cash prize.

2. Please start the event by picking up a passport at The Wishing Tree at 710 Madison at around noon (can also drop by anytime after and before 3pm)  

3. There will be a brief group gathering and photo at 1 pm inside Giorgio Armani store at 760 Madison.
