 In continuation of our “Students Meet Mentors” series, we are honored to feature distinguished panelists Edward T. Kang (Partner, Alston & Bird) and Karen King (Counsel, Paul, Weiss). This will be an opportunity for students to sit front-row, meet our panelists, and ask questions. Ted Kang is the leader of Alston & Bird’s White Collar, Government & Internal Investigations Team and is head of the D.C. office’s Litigation Group. Having tried numerous high-profile fraud and corruption cases as a veteran prosecutor for the DOJ’s Criminal Division, Ted brings a thorough understanding of white collar defense and compliance to clients under investigation by federal agencies. Ted recently has represented numerous entities and individuals in connection with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election. Karen King has extensive experience handling a wide range of complex commercial matters, including BSA/AML and OFAC matters, private securities litigation and arbitration, regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, corporate internal investigations and commercial litigation. She has represented multiple global institutions before state and federal regulators, including the New York Department of Financial Services, Federal Reserve, DOJ, SEC and FDIC. Her significant representations include Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan Chase and other global institutions. Karen is a recipient of the Federal Bar Council’s Thurgood Marshall Award for Exceptional Pro Bono Service and NAPABA’s Pro Bono award.
