WCBA, White Plains Bar Association, and Westchester Black Bar Association Present “The Impact of Franklin H. Williams' Legacy: Then, Today, Tomorrow.”

“A Bridge to Justice: The Life of Franklin H. Williams” is a documentary that explores the life of Franklin Williams, civil rights leader, lawyer, diplomat, and organizer of the Peace Corps. The documentary, narrated by Sterling K. Brown, includes archival Oval Office audio of President Lyndon Johnson and then- Solicitor General Thurgood Marshall discussing Williams along with insightful interviews with former Chief Judges Sol Wachtler and Jonathan Lippman.

After the documentary, Honorable Edwina Richardson-Mendelson, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge; Honorable Kathie E. Davidson, Administrative Judge, 9th Judicial District; Dr. Betty L. Campbell, Commissioner of Jurors, Westchester County, and Sharon G. Matthie, Esq., Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator, 9th Judicial District, will discuss the work being done by the New York State Court and Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission. The Commission, which is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year, promotes racial and ethnic fairness in New York courts.
