AABANY Presents: Trusts & Estates CLE Program on A Balancing Act: A Holistic Approach to Intergenerational Estate Planning and Self-Care for the "Sandwich Generation"
The “Sandwich Generation” are those of us who are often required to care for and support both our children and parents. We are faced with the challenges of balancing the care of our family, parents, and work. This CLE presentation will address the familial responsibilities often confronted by the Sandwich Generation by discussing hypothetical situations, tackling long-term care concerns, and illustrating the legal avenues we can take to best prepare for the present and future—for both ourselves and our loved ones. Our Panelists will discuss the importance of Advanced Directives such as Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy, and Living Will, and the tools the Sandwich Generation may need to better equip ourselves in our own planning and that of our parents, such as Trusts, Wills, and other Estate Planning documents. Panelists will also discuss how to further care for parents, siblings, and children and the benefits of a geriatric care manager.
