The hybrid program will feature two panel discussions and a lunchtime conversation with Keith Plessy and Phoebe Ferguson, representing the opposing principals in the U.S. Supreme Court case, Plessy v. Ferguson. The lunchtime conversation will be moderated by Hon. Shirley Troutman, Associate Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals and Co-Chair of the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission.  Panels for the symposium will have two primary focuses: (1) addressing the impact of Plessy v. Ferguson and subsequent cases on education in New York and the United States, and (2) discussing whether, and what kind of, reparations could address residual harms from the doctrine of separate but equal in New York State. Co-sponsors of the program include: the Hudson Valley Hispanic Bar Association, the Rockland County Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association.  CLE accreditation for the program is pending.
