Dancing Classrooms is thrilled to be celebrating their 30th anniversary by recognizing four exceptional individuals who represent the spirit of Dancing Classrooms.

This year they are proud to present the Humanitarian Award to Dancing Classrooms Board member and Executive Director of the Asian American Bar Association, Yang Chen.

The Dancing Classrooms Champion Award will be bestowed upon former Dancing Classrooms Board Chair, longtime DC supporter, and co-owner of the Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine Dance Studio, Carrie Steinmetz.

Celebrated choreographer Maria Torres will receive the Social Dance Innovator Award in honor of her groundbreaking contributions to the world of social dance.

Finally, Dancing Classrooms is delighted to present the Alumni Achievement Award to Alejandro Mejia, a former Dancing Classrooms student and current Spanish teacher at  David Brearley Middle and High School, whose incredible success as an educator represents the power of arts education.

Dancing Classrooms is honored that Patrice Tanaka, their longtime board member and founder of Joyful Planet, is serving as the Chair for the Mad Hot Ball.

Dancing Classrooms will also be featuring a live band, Danny Jonokuchi & The Revisionists, to fuel the dance floor with a variety of social dance music, including swing, salsa, and cha cha!

Let's dance the night away in one of NYC's few remaining Renaissance Revival ballrooms and celebrate the CONNECTION, INCLUSION and JOY, that Dancing Classrooms brings to 15,000 NYC students and thousands more nationally each year!
