Immigration Basics For Pro Bono Clinic Lawyers AABANY’s Pro Bono Community Service Committee, Issues Committee, and Immigration Committee present a series of talks at AABANY’s Pro Bono Clinics entitled Immigration Basics for Pro Bono Clinic Lawyers. This series will teach lawyers and law students the fundamentals of advising pro bono clients who are or have family in removal (deportation) proceedings. Each session will take place over dinner during the 30-minute period before the pro bono clinic starts.
Session 1: NTA, Detention & Bond Program time: 6pm- 6:30pm (30 minutes)
Topics: 1. How to guide a pro bono client who receives a Notice to Appear 2. How to locate a detained person 3. How to obtain an immigration bond or request a bond hearing 
Note: Pending NY CLE Credit. Attorneys seeking CLE credits must attend both sessions to earn 1 CLE credit hour.
