We, as lawyers and allies, must speak out! Come to a rally sponsored by The New York City Bar Association, The New York County Lawyers Association, The New York Council of Defense Lawyers, and many other New York bar organizations and make your voices heard!

We invite lawyers and non-lawyers to join us on Law Day, Thursday, May 1 from 1-2 PM at Foley Square in lower Manhattan to make clear our support for the rule of law.

WE MUST SPEAK OUT AGAINST:

• Attacking the integrity and independence of judges.

• Demanding the absolute right to rule unfettered by laws and appropriate limits to authority.

• Intimidating lawyers and law firms by interfering with their ability to represent their clients, terminating their government contracts, and prohibiting them from entering government buildings.

• Threatening lawyers so they will not represent certain clients or causes.

• Firing government lawyers and investigators simply for doing their jobs.

• Punishing lawyers and law firms without Due Process.

Lawyers, be prepared to re-affirm your attorney’s oaths! If you feel comfortable doing so, please dress like you are going to court! Bring your pocket constitution!
