Details
On behalf of the Nassau County Equal Justice in the Courts Committee, we invite everyone to attend a FREE VIRTUAL CLE program on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm: "GENDA & Beyond: Employment Discrimination, Gender Expression, and Workplace Protections in New York."

This FREE virtual CLE program offers a structured overview of employment discrimination law as it applies to gender identity and expression in the workplace. Beginning with the legal landscape that preceded it, the program traces the development of New York's Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA), examines its scope and key provisions, and places New York's protections in national context through a comparison of state and federal law. Through case studies and statutory analysis, attendees will gain a practical understanding of what GENDA prohibits, who it protects, and how it is being applied across the legal landscape.

The program will be presented by Rachel Demarest Gold, Esq., Partner, Abrams Fensterman, LLP, with introductory remarks and moderation by Mili Makhijani, Esq., Chief Court Attorney, Nassau County Supreme Court Law Department.

1.5 Credits in the Areas of Professional Practice will be available for new and experienced attorneys. RSVP is not required. An attendance form and an evaluation form must be completed and returned in order to receive CLE credit.

The program will be held virtually, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm.  A link to join the CLE via Microsoft Teams is in the flyer attached. You may also click HERE to join.
