Program Description:

Come join us for an engaging discourse and book reading by Melissa Schneider, author of “The Ugly Wife is a Treasure at Home”.  Ms. Schneider will guide us in a journey through the unfolding developments of romantic revolutions in Communist China, which will be interspersed with a reading of quotes and short excerpts from personal memories of those who endured the Cultural Revolution and the generations that followed.  The collection of intimate and remarkable stories in her new book gives readers a rare view of Chinese history, social customs, and Communism from the perspective of today’s ordinary citizens.
