The NAPABA Annual Lobby Day is an opportunity for NAPABA members from across the country to educate members of Congress and congressional staffers on issues of importance to the Asian Pacific American (APA) community. Lobby Day also gives members an active role in promoting NAPABA’s mission of advocating for justice, equity, and opportunity for APAs.

Activities

Lobby Day events include:

• 3-Part Training Event
• Hill Visits
• Happy Hour Debrief
• Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Congressional Reception (Open to the public. Pre-registration is required.)
• U.S. Supreme Court Bar Admission (Pre-registration is now CLOSED.)
• Includes a group swearing-in ceremony and tour of the Supreme Court.
• All application materials and processing fee must be submitted to the NAPABA office by Feb. 24, 2016.
• Interested participants have the option of selecting this activity in the Lobby Day Registration page.

• U.S. Supreme Court Tour (Open to the public. Pre-registration is required.)
• A half hour lecture which will introduce visitors of all ages to the judicial functions of the Supreme Court, the history of the Building, and the architecture of the Courtroom.
• Interested participants have the option of selecting this activity in the Lobby Day Registration page.

• Deadline to register for Lobby Day is April 13, 2016.
• Register for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Congressional Reception and Supreme Court Tour HERE.

Stipend

• Stipends are available for NAPABA direct members traveling to Lobby Day from out of town.
• Deadline to submit an application has now passed.The deadline to be considered for a stipend was March 21, 2016.
• A stipend application is included in the Lobby Day Registration page. Stipend submissions are now closed.

The official Lobby Day hotel is Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol, which is conveniently located near Capitol Hill. And, is within walking distance of the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station and more than a dozen local restaurants.
