AABANY Career Advancement and Student Outreach Committees welcome you to a 2 hour info panel discussion on best practices for interviews and resume drafting when applying to law firms. Speakers: Katherine Loanzon - Katherine Loanzon, Esq., is a Managing Director at Kinney Recruiting, where she connects attorneys with law firm and in-house opportunities in New York and nationwide. A former practicing attorney who advised startups and food businesses across New York, Katherine brings firsthand legal experience and a strong entrepreneurial spirit to her recruiting work. Before Kinney, she served as an Attorney Search Director and Division Director at another leading agency, quickly rising to lead her office as a top producer. She earned her JD from CUNY School of Law and her BA in Romance Languages from NYU. Katherine also serves as a Director of the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
Ben Hsing
- Ben Hsing is a Senior Counsel at Bayes PLLC, where he draws on his extensive experience as a trial lawyer to advise clients on complex intellectual property and patent litigation matters. Formerly a partner at Venable LLP’s Intellectual Property Group, Ben has represented leading pharmaceutical, chemical, and technology companies in high-profile disputes involving biopharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, medical devices, and memory chips, consistently achieving favorable outcomes. He has also led teams in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and provides strategic guidance on issues related to generative artificial intelligence and intellectual property due diligence for acquisitions and licensing. Ben earned his J.D. with highest honors from George Washington University Law School and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Columbia University. Ben current serves as the President of the Asian American Bar Association of New York
Christina Nguyen - Christina Nguyen is an associate at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP in the Corporate Practice Group of her firm’s New York office and a member of the Healthcare Team, where she focuses on corporate transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture financings, and corporate governance. With a particular emphasis on the healthcare sector, Christina advises clients on acquiring, selling, forming, and investing in entities including hospitals, health systems, and home care services. She is also an active member of Healthy AI, a group dedicated to exploring the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare. A graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, she held leadership roles in APALSA, the Dispute Resolution Society, and the Commercial Division Online Law Report, and competed internationally in arbitration competitions. Christina also serves as a Co-Chair of the Career Advancement Committee at the Asian American Bar Association of New York.

- Rachel Lee is an Associate in the Global Compensation, Employment & Governance Practice at A&O Shearman’s New York office, where she counsels private companies and financial institutions on a wide range of ERISA, executive compensation, benefits, labor and employment issues, including due diligence and contract negotiation for corporate M&A and finance transactions. A committed advocate for inclusion and equity, she plays a leading role in the firm’s U.S. Asian Affinity Network and U.S. Associates Council and serves on the A&O Alumni Advisory Board. Under her leadership, the firm earned diversity awards from NAPABA and AABANY. She earned her B.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Rachel also serves as Co-Chair of the Issues Committee at the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
Gary Yeung - Gary L. Yeung is an Associate in Schulte Roth & Zabel’s New York office who specializes in complex commercial litigation, representing investment managers, private funds, financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in disputes ranging from breach of contract and fraud, to fiduciary duty and insurance-related matters. He has extensive courtroom and arbitration experience across all litigation phases, as well as leading mediation and settlement negotiations. A devoted advocate for justice, Gary maintains a robust pro bono practice, advocating for civil and constitutional rights, asylum seekers, tenants’ rights, human trafficking victims, and other underserved communities. A Cornell Law School graduate (JD, Managing Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal) with a BA from University of California, San Diego. Gary also co-chairs the Mentorship Committee and the Pro Bono & Community Service Committee at the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
