The AABANY Anti-Asian Violence Task Force (AAVTF) and Paul, Weiss invite anyone who is interested in serving as a HEART volunteer to attend a training at 11 am on Friday, July 22nd. Jennifer Wu, Karen Kithan Yau and members of the AAVTF will focus on the nuts of bolts of how we assist victims of anti-Asian hate: building trust and cultivating relationships with the families; dealing with trusts and estates, probate, wrongful death issues, as well as accepting financial help, and navigating hospitalization issues. In-person attendance is encouraged but there will also be a remote option. Note: folks who volunteered in the past year are also invited.

HEART stands for Hate Eradication Active Response Team and is a project of the AAVTF that recruits volunteers from AABANY's membership to serve as guides and navigators to assist victims and survivors of anti-Asian hate and violence seek available resources for justice and recovery from incidents and attacks.
