The Open Meeting is an opportunity for anyone interested in running for the AABANY Board to ask any questions about the process or what being a Board Member might entail. It will be the final opportunity for any candidates to submit their applications, if they missed the regular deadline. We will hold this session virtually, over Zoom.

Those who wish to attend the Open Meeting must register online by Nov. 10.

AABANY's Annual Meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2024. We hope to see you there! At our Annual Meeting, elections will be conducted to elect several Board Directors and 7 AABANY Officers for the coming year. The Officer positions include:

President-Elect,
Vice President of Programs and Operations - 2 Positions,
Director of Development,
Treasurer,
Secretary, and
Membership Director.

The Nominations Committee welcomes applications to fill the vacancies immediately. The Nominations Committee will select a slate of candidates to be included on a ballot form that will be sent out to the membership a month before the Annual Meeting. The Nominations Committee plans to interview candidates after all nominations have been received and report to the Board by the December 12, 2023 Board meeting.

Please submit:
(i) a statement of interest declaring your intent to run; and
(ii) a current resume, biography or CV listing your experience and accomplishments and any honors
received to date.

As part of item (i), please indicate your experience with AABANY if you have been an active member, describing any activities that you have participated in or helped to organize. If you have not been an active member in AABANY, explain what capabilities, resources, talents, skills, expertise, experience or any other contributions you would be able to make as a Board Director or Officer. Please also identify any activities indicating a dedication and commitment to issues of importance to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.

All nominations must be received by November 14, 2023.

On November 14, 2023, we will hold an open meeting at which prospective candidates can make their submissions or ask any questions to the Nominations Committee and the Board members. If you have already sent in your materials by postal mail or e-mail, you need not attend the open meeting. At this open meeting, the Chair of the Nominations Committee will be in attendance and members of the Nominations Committee and the Board may also be present. Attendance would only be mandatory for those prospective candidates who did not make their submissions by the deadline. November 14, 2023 is the FINAL deadline for submission of candidates' materials. No submissions will be accepted after this date.
