Anti-Asian Hate Past and Present with Hope for the Future: A Case Study of Law, Politics, and Practice

NAPABA is proud to co-sponsor a three-part overview on the history of anti-Asian hate and what we can do to take charge of the future. This free program is presented by the Northern District Historical Society and the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society and featured speakers include NAPABA member Quyen Ta from the Alliance for Asian American Justice.

  • Part I: 19th Century – Review the historical foundations of anti-Asian hate with historian David Lei and Stanford Professor Gordon Chang
  • Part II: 20th Century – Examine the evolution of anti-Asian hate during WWII with UC Emeritus Professor Michael Omi and The Pew Research Center
  • Part III: 21st Century – Find hope for the future in taking charge with current programs and initiatives, featuring Quyen Ta on the Alliance for Asian American Justice, Lorna Randlett on Leaders Forum’s Short Code, and Vincent Pan on Stop AAPI Hate

If you’re able to join in person, a reception will follow the program on the Sky Deck at The Cotchett Law Center.
