The Nassau County Equal Justice in the Courts Committee proudly presents a
free virtual CLE on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2024, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm, in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.” 1 CLE credit in the Areas of Diversity and Inclusion will be available. This program is open to all law students, new and experienced attorneys.
This CLE will cover Mendez v. Westminster School District, and
its role in the advancement of civil rights, the significant
contributions of Hispanic judges in New York State, the Jeh Johnson
Report, and
State Board of Elections v Margarita Lopez Torres. The discussion
will be led by the Honorable Joseph A. Zayas, Chief Administrative
Judge of the State of New York and the Honorable Helen Voutsinas,
Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, Second
