Immigration Basics For Pro Bono Clinic Lawyers
AABANY’s Pro Bono Community Service Committee, Issues Committee, and Immigration Committee present a series of talks at AABANY’s Pro Bono Clinics entitled Immigration Basics for Pro Bono Clinic Lawyers. This series will teach lawyers and law students the fundamentals of advising pro bono clients who are or have family in removal (deportation) proceedings. Each session will take place over dinner during the 30-minute period before the pro bono clinic starts.
Session 2: Immigration Court & Relief Program time: 6pm- 6:30pm (30 minutes)
Topics: 1. What to expect in an immigration proceeding 2. What kinds of relief are available in Immigration Court

NY CLE Credit: 1.0 Credits in Areas of Professional Practice (both transactional and non-transitional). Attorneys seeking CLE credits must attend both sessions to earn 1 CLE credit hour. No partial credit is available. PROGRAM COURSEBOOK CAN BE FOUND HERE. AABANY is certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an Accredited Provider. This program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the CLE Board for a maximum of 1 credit hours will be applied toward the Areas of Professional Practice.
