The Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission, in partnership with the Chautauqua Institution, is hosting the 2025 Forum on Democracy, co-curated by Chautauqua Institution staff and the 2024–25 Chautauqua Perry Fellows in Democracy: Melody C. Barnes from the University of Virginia School of Law, and David French, a New York Times columnist. This engaging forum will be held from Sunday, June 8 through Tuesday, June 10, and will feature panel discussions, presentations, and seminars exploring themes such as history, voting rights, and justice. Chief Judge Rowan D. Wilson will provide the keynote lecture followed by a question-and-answer segment on Monday, June 9, from 10:45AM-12PM. The Williams Commission is hosting the Chief Judge’s lecture and conversation as part of its annual Juneteenth Symposium program series.
