For all those public-minded folks out there, our Government Service & Public Interest (GSPI) Committee and Pro Bono & Community Service (PBCS) Committee will be holding a joint meeting. The committee meeting will be held on March 1, 2016 at 6:30pm at the LSNYC office located at 40 Worth Street, Suite 606, New York, NY 10013. You will need to bring photo ID to get through security.

On February 11, the Women’s Committee and the Membership Committee co-hosted a Lunar New Year Celebration and Shopping Event at Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street. Members and guests were treated to passed hors d'oeuvres, sparkling water, and white wine. Makeup artists from Lancome were on hand for any ladies who wanted to freshen their makeup. A fashion show displaying the latest corporate looks and evening wear dazzled the attendees.
On the second Wednesday of every month, AABANY holds a free legal clinic at the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. Please also consider volunteering at these clinics. The next clinic will be held on March 9, 2016. Email june.lee@aabany.org to join the effort.

SABANY and AABANY are thrilled to announce their 2015 Joint Bar Program, which offers eligible members reduced membership rates for a limited time offer.
Members of each organization will be eligible for a special reduction in their first year dues in the sister bar organization if they elect to join. Eligibility to receive this special dues reduction is limited to active, dues-paying members who are either new members or have not been a member of the sister bar organization in the last two years. This past year, the Government Service Public Interest (GSPI) and Pro Bono and Community Services (PBCS) Committees have been committed to providing AABANY members a greater range of pro bono opportunities.
These committees are surveying everyone’s interest in the pro bono initiatives that they are developing, so that they can determine how to best allocate AABANY resources.
