AABANY publicly states its strong opposition to President Trump’s January 27, 2017 Executive Order suspending entry of all individuals, including students, visitors and even U.S. lawful permanent residents, from seven Muslim-majority countries and of refugees from all countries. The President’s actions lead the country down a path that is reminiscent of dark periods in American history that Asian Americans know well. Read more here.

Shortly after taking office, President Trump issued several executive orders on immigration. The public has been up in arms about them, but how much do we really know about them? We’ve already seen the orders’ effects with the “Muslim ban” at the airports, but the orders are far-reaching and we need to be aware of the other dangers they pose as events unfold. Tune in to learn about what the orders say in plain language and what they’ll mean to the immigrant community.
